AGS BVCC’s Cornerstone Award

Chamber of Commerce honors award recipients
BY CHRISTOPHER TANGUAY TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER SUTTON — The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce handed out its annual awards last week, recognizing some of the most active contributors to the region’s economic growth. The BVCC’s Cornerstone Award was presented Nov. 17 to Joseph Bostek, controller of AGS. AGS was chosen for the award, which recognizes establishment of a new business or expansion of an existing one in the area, for opening its new worldwide headquarters in Sutton. The 238,000-square foot-facility employs approximately 300 of AGS ’ 430 total employees. Bostek said the cooperation between the town and the company made AGS’ relocation very smooth. He thanked Sutton Selectman Ryan Fattman (now state representative elect of the 18th Worcester District), who was in attendance at Tuesday’s breakfast. “It’s been a great partnership,” Bostek said. “They’ve worked with us, we’ve worked with them. We look forward to continuing to expand in the region.”
